Ark-x Academy is a Morocco-based tech training provider offering a free Jobintech Program (20 weeks) in either Full Stack Java/Angular or Full Stack JavaScript/MERN. The Full Stack Java/Angular bootcamp covers topics like Java, Angular, Git, SQL, networking, HTML, CSS, REST, Agile, Scrum, and JavaScript. The Full Stack JavaScript/MERN bootcamp covers topics like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js, Agile, Scrum, and Git. In addition to the bootcamps, Ark-X Academy also offers a variety of technical courses. Students with limited experience are welcome to apply to Ark-x Academy. Students applying to the Jobintech Program must be between 20 and 27 years old and of Moroccan nationality. Students are required to have at least BAC+2 for the Full Stack MERN program and BAC+5 for the Full Stack Java/Angular program. Ark-X Academy bootcamps are designed to help students transfer into tech and career support is included in the curriculum. We set up and equip computer labs in rural primary schools, run ongoing digital classes, and station a full-time teacher to ensure every student grows up immersed in technology. TechLit Africa is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending intergenerational poverty by harnessing the power of the digital economy. TechLit was founded by two software engineers: Nelly Cheboi, a native of Kenya who grew up in poverty, and Tyler Cinnamon, a self-taught programmer who grew up immersed in Technology. They repurpose old computers to build computer labs in rural primary schools. Why Accelerate? This is not your typical accelerator. It could be easy to mistake Accelerate Africa for your typical one-size-fits-all accelerator program, but nothing could be more different. First, we will accept 10 founders who will receive 1:1 support from advisors who have built, advised, invested in, and exited multiple successful businesses in Africa. The University of Pretoria Business Incubator (UPBI) is a rapid business incubator based at the University of Pretoria. We help aspiring young entrepreneurs build the companies that will shape the future by equipping them with the tools, skills, and connections that they need to turn that dream into a tangible reality. We here at the UPBI believe that young entrepreneurs are the drivers who will take the world to greater heights of economic justice and involvement for all. All they need is a kickstart to be pointed in the right direction. HOW IT WORKS The UPBI is open to all students of the University of Pretoria, regardless of degree or year of study. To be a part of the incubator, students must first apply with either a business idea or an already running business, and then be interviewed. Once they have passed the application process, students are inducted into the incubator as incubatees. They are then eligible to attend a series of talks hosted by select speakers. The incubatees will thereafter take the knowledge they have accumulated at the negotiations and pitch their startups to a panel of judges. Thereafter, the most outstanding startups and incubatees will be selected to be personally managed by the incubator managers to fine-tune the startups, get set up to run the business, and meet investors and potential partners.
